I am really happy to inform you that the Holy See has confirmed the recognition of our « Union Internationale des Guides et Scouts d’Europe – Fédération du Scoutisme Européen », as an international private association of the faithful and that it has definitively approved its statutes.

This new important step stimulates us to go on further vigorously on the road in order to do our best to serve God, the Church, our Country and Europe; as a matter of fact, it is thanks to the daily commitment of each one of you that the Pontifical Council for the Laity has recognised the “precious contribution brought by the Union in the field of pastoral for young people”.

I give specific thanks to the leaders who, during the first years of this new century, have worked with constancy and competence to get the first fundamental recognition of August 26th 2003 and to all those who went on doing it in order to get this definitive confirmation. Let me evoke the essential work done by father Ivan Žužek S.J. I am sure that from Heaven he rejoices with us and accompanies us with his prayer.
